I listen, or rather, used to listen to Glenn Beck, but I am having greater and greater difficulty listening to him. If you are a fan, I beg you to hear me out — please. As the Spiritual darkness grows, I find his apostate belief system creeping through his show is growing, as well. I guess it is the Holy Spirit within me, but I cannot listen to hims anymore. He is simply leading too many astray, and I do not want to risk being deceived by him, myself. Today, the issue is Beck’s worship of the Constitution and his continued calls for people to keep trusting our ‘system.’
I know there are many who listen to Beck, but few have researched the teachings of his religion. Beck is a Mormon. As such, he literally worships three gods, at least two of which are men — humans! But set that aside. He also believes that the U.S. Constitution is holy, like the Scriptures. He also believes in an end times prophecy that says there will come a time when the U.S. Constitution is ‘hanging by a thread.’ Have you ever heard him use this phrase? He says it quite frequently. You need to know it is a dog whistle. It refers to Mormon prophecy; a prophecy that also says that the Constitution will be saved by the Mormon elders who will ride in and save it at the last moment. If you are part of the True Remnant, this should be a heresy to you, because it is.
This is why Beck has never discussed this prophecy. He knows that the True Remnant would reject it, and, most likely, him, as well. It’s also why Beck never talks about the fact that he believes he is a Mormon prophet. However, he hints at both. In the case of him being a prophet, he tells you all the time he can see the future. He describes it as ‘seeing over the horizon.’ Unfortunately, the things he has predicted that have come to pass could have been predicted by anyone who bothered to read what the Lawless Left has written, believed them, and then just taken their words to their logical extensions. No prophecy is required there, just logic and a knowledge of history and human nature.
Now we come to Beck’s insistence on peaceful resistance. He keeps referring to Jesus and claims to be following the Messiah’s example. He brings up Martin Luther King, Jr and Gandhi all the time in connection to his position. Today, he even invoked the Founders, and said that they tried to peacefully petition King George for more than three decades.
Now, here me loud and clear in what follows!
I acknowledge everything that I just stated about Beck’s position is true! And I am not — repeat — NOT calling for armed rebellion!
However, Beck is wrong about his take on both the Founders and Scripture in connection to the need to remain peaceful. He said to continue to trust the system. Beck said we are neither at the point where the Founders revolted, nor at a Scriptural point for revolt. I am going to explain why Beck is wrong on both counts, but again, you need to read me carefully, and take me at my word. Do not read anything into my words that I do not clearly state. I am not trying to write cryptically. I am going to say exactly what I mean, and I mean exactly what I say.
First, the Founders did petition the King for decades before the revolted, and even then, when they revolted, they appealed to the Judge of the Universe (i.e. YHWH!). Furthermore, we have been petitioning our government for far longer than the Founders petitioned the King. Per Beck’s own teachings, we have been trying to right the legal and Constitutional wrongs and to reclaim stolen rights since the time of Woodrow Wilson (how soon Beck forgets his own shows). This means, we have been fighting to preserve our individual rights and liberties, and the Constitution, for more than 110 years! So, according to the very things Beck has taught his audience, Beck is wrong about the Founders (so much for his claim of knowing history, or of being honest with his audience — you decide).
He is equally wrong about the system. The system of government our Founders handed down to us has been destroyed. It has been replaced by the rule of Men, not of the law. These people are lawless and wicked. They seek their own power and profit, and they care not for the needs and concerns of the poor or helpless. The system they have built oppresses the people they were appointed to protect, and it destroys the system they swore to uphold. There can be no trust in such a system. Again, Beck has taught his audience that our system was being dismantled for more than fifteen years. Now he tells us to trust it. There is no discernment or wisdom in his words: not on this subject, there isn’t.
Now, let’s look to Scripture. Here is where we all want to be especially careful. I am not going to even attempt to use Scripture to justify violence against the government. But I am not going to do so because we do not meet the Scriptural requirements to invoke YHWH’s authority to do so. Why? This is where I want to focus.
What does Scripture teach us about the way YHWH deals with a wicked and lawless nation?
Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,
But when a wicked man rules, people groan.Psalm 125:3
For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous,
So that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong.Proverbs 28:15
Like a roaring lion and a rushing bear
Is a wicked ruler over a poor people.Isaiah 10:1
Woe to those who enact evil statutes
And to those who constantly record unjust decisions.Micah 7:3
Concerning evil, both hands do it well.
The prince asks, also the judge, for a bribe,
And a great man speaks the desire of his soul;
So they weave it together.Isaiah 1:23
Your rulers are rebels
And companions of thieves;
Everyone loves a bribe
And chases after rewards.
They do not defend the orphan,
Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.Ezekiel 22:27
Her princes within her are like wolves tearing the prey, by shedding blood and destroying lives in order to get dishonest gain.
Isaiah 3:14
The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and princes of His people,
“It is you who have devoured the vineyard;
The plunder of the poor is in your houses.
We are supposed to live in a nation where we are free to choose our own rulers. So, who is responsible if we elect wicked people to rule over us? Does Scripture say that righteous people will choose wicked rulers? No, it says that wicked rulers are connected to wicked and unrighteous people, and that the people suffer for it. This is especially true for the righteous remnant left among those wicked people and their rulers. But there is nowhere in Scripture that teaches these wicked to revolt. Instead, it calls people to repent and return to Righteousness; and this same Scripture teaches that Righteousness is TORAH, the Laws of YHWH.
So, if we would restore our land to righteousness, we cannot revolt. We must repent and call others to do them same. But this does require resistance. It requires YHWH’s people to have the courage and faith to refuse to obey unrighteous laws — even if it means their own death! This is actually the key to understanding Romans 13. Paul never teaches us to obey Man’s law over YHWH’s. Instead, Paul teaches us to obey the Father and, if this means we break Man’s law in the process, to submit to that law. But Submit does not mean obey. As much as we may not like to accept it, not resisting evil and allowing it to send you to the lions is submission. Notice: no revolt — not according to Man’s way of thinking revolt, anyway. But revolt according to YHWH’s Way. In the end, YHWH’s people changed the entire world by submitting to wicked people, because their example changed the hearts of nations.
This is the example we must follow: the teachings of Scripture, and not our own notion of wisdom. So, obey the Laws of YHWH, and, if that places you at odds with the wicked rulers of this world, submit to their laws, but do not bend to them. If they tell you to renounce the color of their skin or lose your job, trust YHWH to provide. If they tell you to speak in false ways, like refusing you to use the word mother or father, or calling a man a woman, refuse, and trust YHWH to help you through the aftermath. If they tell you to call violence a peaceful protest, and to confess peaceful protests and violence, refuse. If they tell you that you must accept that the unborn child is not a person, refuse. If they tell you that you have to support sexual immorality, refuse to obey. Refuse to obey unrighteous commands. Obey the Father and trust Him with the result. Love Him and His Law more than your own life. This is how our Founders really won their freedom, and it is the only way we will win ours back. Just know that, unless the Messiah returns, we will probably not live to see liberty returned to Man.
